We’ve had an exciting week here in the Spark Studio! Let’s dive into what we’ve been up to:
This week, we delved into the world of fire safety to prepare for our upcoming field trip to the fire station. We learned about the importance of fire and imagined what life was like before stoves, grills, and heaters were part of our daily lives.
On Friday, we had a fantastic adventure visiting the Madison Fire Station! We had the opportunity to explore real fire trucks, fire boats and meet brave firemen and women. Afterwards, we walked to Memorial Union where we shared a meal, watched a children’s band, fed ducks, and indulged in ice cream. We ended the day with a movie, Call of The Wild, to continue our survival and wilderness exploration. It was a wonderful day for all of us!
With only three weeks remaining in this session (and the school year), we have introduced some new Montessori tools to keep our engagement high during core skills time. This week’s new tool is the bead cabinet which is used to practice skip counting while laying the groundwork for multiples and multiplication! Another fun addition is our continent and world puzzle maps. Some heroes have already started tracing and labeling the maps they create!
We’re looking forward to more fun and learning in the weeks ahead as we wrap up this session. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s learning journey.
