Discovery Studio, Year 3, Session 2, Week 10

Discovery has been buzzing with excitement as the heroes began planning for their upcoming Marine Science Exhibition! Discovery heroes have been working hard, blending creativity, teamwork, and their growing knowledge of marine science to create an experience their parents will remember.

We kicked off the week by discussing the roles each hero would take during the exhibition. From greeting guests, creating the itinerary/programs, presenting projects and setting up displays, everyone had a chance to choose responsibilities that matched their interests and strengths. It was amazing to see them embrace these roles with enthusiasm, demonstrating ownership and teamwork in the process.

Next, we turned our focus to the heart of the exhibition—the incredible work they’ve done and what they’re most excited to showcase. During a lively discussion, students shared what they’ve enjoyed most about marine science quests. The first station invites participants to build their own coral reef models, challenging them to think like marine biologists as they replicate the vibrant and complex structures of underwater ecosystems. The second station, called the Stomach Dissector, is a creative guessing game where parents examine mock “stomachs” to identify the diets of various marine consumers. These activities not only highlight the students’ knowledge but also give parents a chance to experience the quests up close.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the Marine Science Jeopardy game, a fun and competitive activity where parents can test their ocean knowledge against the same challenging questions that the heroes experienced. Heroes are thrilled to see if their parents can handle the tough questions and share in the excitement of this lively game!

The Marine Science Exhibition is a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and teamwork. We couldn’t be prouder of Discovery and it is amazing to see them shine as they take their parents on a journey beneath the waves.
