Houston, we had a…..great week!
The Spark heroes continued to explore outer space! They learned the Earth is 4.5 billion years old and throughout this time, the Moon has been our planet’s constant companion. This week they explored the moon’s phases and its role in causing the tides. They learned that gravity is different on the moon as well as on other planets. This weekend is a full moon, so keep yours eyes out!
Your hero may be on the lookout for Orion in the night sky as well. The heroes learned about what makes up a star, and how together they form constellations.
The heroes took the news of our delayed field trip to the Planetarium in stride (great resilience) and are excited that we will be able to go next week instead. They also keep asking about rockets and are very, very excited to build and launch rockets next week with their families.
In core skills, the heroes have been enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with friends. This week our focus was creativity, and we challenged the children to use materials in new and creative ways, or to try something new. We saw painting, building, and collaboration between new friends.
